Value-Added Creation to Enhance the Income of Gem and Jewelry Businesses in Chanthaburi

The objectives of this study aimed to analyze the supply chain, problems, and limitations that have occurred in gem and jewelry businesses in Chanthaburi province, and to evaluate the economic outcomes of gem and jewelry product creation. Based on the data collection, the results indicated that the downstream industry can help increase the value-added factor the most, and especially designs and product development; being the key factors. In terms of gem and jewelry product design enhancement, 21 participants included local entrepreneurs, crafting technicians, and the “young” generation who are interested in jewelry business product innovation. The jewelry collections are matched with the target groups that identify with Chanthaburi province. The economic outcomes evaluated predict that 76.19% of the participants may increase their monthly income at least 10,000 Baht; which meets the target of the project, and adds value creation and economic enhancement to gem and jewelry businesses in Chanthaburi.
