The Journal of Economics, Maejo University is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and ensuring academic integrity at every stage of the process.

Roles and Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Authors must adhere to research ethics and report results based on factual findings without distorting data or providing false information.
  2. Submitted manuscripts must be original work and must not have been published elsewhere previously.
  3. Authors must correctly cite any work by others used in the manuscript and provide a reference list that follows the journal’s specified format.
  4. Authors must prepare their manuscripts in strict accordance with the "Author Guidelines" or "Manuscript Preparation Guidelines."
  5. Authors must not republish or disseminate their work through other outlets once it has been published in the Journal of Economics, Maejo University.
  6. All listed authors must have made a significant and genuine contribution to the research.
  7. Authors must disclose all sources of financial support or funding received for the academic work.

Roles and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Editors are responsible for selecting high-quality manuscripts for peer review and publication, primarily based on the relevance of the content to the journal’s scope.
  2. Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit without bias regarding the author's race, gender, religion, culture, political leanings, or institutional affiliation.
  3. Editors must have no conflict of interest with authors or reviewers to ensure an impartial process.
  4. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of author and reviewer information throughout the Double-blind Peer Review process.
  5. Editors must strictly follow journal protocols and standards to ensure efficient and high-quality management.
  6. Editors must implement a rigorous and systematic process for detecting plagiarism.
  7. If plagiarism is detected before or during the review process, the editor must halt the review and contact the corresponding author immediately for clarification before deciding to "Accept" or "Reject" the manuscript.

Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Reviewers must prioritize the quality of the manuscript, evaluating it based on academic principles and logic without personal bias or conflict of interest.
  2. Reviewers must not seek personal gain or professional advantage from the manuscripts they evaluate.
  3. Reviewers should only accept manuscripts within their field of expertise. If they lack expertise in the specific subject matter, they should notify the editor promptly.
  4. If a reviewer identifies similarities to other research or detects ethical violations, they must inform the editor immediately.
  5. Reviewers should verify whether research involving human or animal subjects has received the necessary ethical clearance/certification.
  6. Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality and not disclose details of the manuscript to unauthorized parties.
  7. Reviewers must complete their evaluations within the specified timeframe.
