DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA-BASED LEARNING PACKAGE ON THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an interactive multimedia-based learning package, to investigate the effectiveness index of students learning with the package, and to examine the students’ satisfaction toward using the multimedia learning package on the topic “Endocrine System” for Grade 12 students. The sample group consisted of 25 students from Grade 12/5, Semester 1, Academic Year 2024, at Kuchinarai School, Kalasin Province. The sample was selected through purposive sampling. The research design employed a one-group pretest–posttest method. The research instruments included: (1) a multimedia learning package consisting of two units with a total learning time of 8 hours; (2) a 20-item, four-option multiple-choice achievement test; and (3) a 10-item, five-point rating scale satisfaction questionnaire. Data was analyzed using statistical methods, including mean, percentage, and standard deviation.

           The findings revealed that:

              1) the multimedia learning package achieved an efficiency of 92.01/81.25, exceeding the 80/80 criterion.

              2) the effectiveness index was 0.71, indicating that students made 71% progress in their learning, which was higher than the 0.60 criterion at the .05 level of statistical significance.

              3) students’ satisfaction with the learning package was at the highest level (M = 4.56).

              It can be concluded that the developed multimedia learning package was effective in enhancing students’ learning achievement and fostering positive attitudes toward learning.
