Development of learning activity program using 7E learning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome, Biology4 (W30244) for Grade 12 high school students

Abstract

This study aims to develop leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome of Biology4 (W30244) for grade 12 high school students base on efficiency parameter 80/80 of learning activities and compare student achievements before and after they participate in leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle and determine their attitude after learning activities. The participants in this study were grade 12 high school student class 6/1 who studying on first semester of 2019, Kaset Sombun Wittayakhom School.Thirty six students were purposively selectedand subjected to the programs of learning activities using 7E learning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome. The achievement test was multiple choices question with 5 choices in total of 40 questions with index of difficulty (p) = 0.25-0.80, index of discrimination (r) = 0.20-1.00, and reliability = 0.93. Fifteen attitude test questions were used for determining student attitude after finishing the program learning cycle. The mean, percentage, standard deviation and Independent t-test were used for statistical analysis.


          The study showed that


  1. The result of leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome of Biology4 (W30244) for grade 12 high school students, which developed by the author was 82.22/83.40 efficiency, which means the developed learning program was more efficiency than the standard program parameter 80/80.

  2. The achievement index of leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome of Biology4 (W30244) for grade 12 high school students was 0.8516 or 85.16 %.

  3. The achievement test of students who participated in the leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome of Biology4 (W30244) for grade 12 high school students was significantly higher compared between before and after participation in the program (P≤0.050)

  4. Students who participated in the leaning activity program using 7E leaning cycle in topic of gene and chromosome of Biology4 (W30244) for grade 12 high school students were considered in the highest score of attitudes to the program (X=4.55, S.D.=0.53).
