Abstract

The purposes of the research were 1) to develop English learning activity  using Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT), 2) to study the results of English learning activity using Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) of grade 6 students consist of (1) to compare listening and speaking skills before and after  using  communicative language teaching (CLT), (2) to compare listening and speaking skills before and after using communicative language teaching  and (3) to compare students’ listening and speaking skills after using Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) and communicative language teaching (CLT), and 3) to study the development of listening and speaking skills of grade 6 students who were taught by CLAT. The samples were selected using by the simple random sampling which were in two classes of grade 6 students were studying in second semester of the academic year 2018 at Anubanlumpuk (Wankru2503) School. They were divided into experimental group and control group by drawing lots. The instruments of data collection were 1) Communicative of language with attitude teaching (CLAT) lesson plan, 2) Communicative language teaching lesson plan, and 3) listening and speaking test. The data was analyzed by using mean, percentage and standard deviation. Hotelling’s T2 and MANCOVA were also used for hypothesis testing. The results of the research revealed that; English learning activity using Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) had high efficiency level of 80.07/88.73. The results of English learning activity using Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) of grade 6 students as follows. Grade 6 students who were taught by Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) had developed their speaking and listening skills at significant level of .05. Grade 6 students who were taught by Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) had developed their speaking and listening skills at significant level of .05. Grade 6 students who were taught by Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) had higher achievement than grade 6 students who were taught by Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) at significant level of .05. And grade 6 students who were taught by Communicative of Language with Attitude Teaching (CLAT) had higher achievement after the lessons.
