Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the requirement for the development of functional performance 2) develop the functional performances through training and 3) evaluate the development of the functional performance of bachelor degree advisors of Suratthani Rajabhat University. The research process was carried out in 3 steps. In the first step,the requirement for the development of the functional performance of bachelor degree advisors of Suratthani Rajabhat University was studied. The samples of 181 advisors were randomly selected from a population of 339. Data were collected using a questionnaire that had a confidence level of 0.965. Statistics used in the data analysis comprised mean and standard deviation. The performance development plan through the role of bachelor degree advisors of Suratthani Rajabhat University was created in the second step. The plan was subsequently approved by five independent experts. The last step, operation, and evaluation of the development of functional performance through the role of the bachelor degree advisors was carried out on the purposive samples of 44 undergraduate academic advisors. Data were collected using an evaluation form which had a confidence level of 0.932 Statistics used in the data analysis comprised mean standard deviation and paired sample t-test.


       The results showed that 1) the requirement for the development of functional performance through the role of the bachelor degree advisors of Suratthani Rajabhat University by the overall and each aspect were at a high level. The aspect ranking of mean was showed as follows academic, student development and student activity, and general coordinator, respectively. 2) In the case of the creation of the performance development plan, the suitability of the proposal on the development of functional performance through the role of the bachelor degree advisors by the overall and each aspect was at a very high level. 3) Evaluation of the development of functional performance through the role of the bachelor degree advisors was found as follows. 3.1) As the result of the pre and post-test of knowledge revealed significantly higher scores in the post-test than in the pre-test at p ‹0.05. 3.2) In the case of the performance development plan, the result showed a very high level of satisfaction with overall 3.3) In addition, the training manual is satisfied to be used with a very high level overall. The ranking of mean was found by aspect as follows usefulness, content, appropriate language, and design of manual.
