THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN LOCAL EDUCATION WITH THE 5E KNOWLEDGE-SEEKING PROCESS AND THE HISTORICAL METHOD OF HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to compare 1) the learning achievement on Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students before and after organizing learning activities using the 5E inquiry process, 2) the learning achievement of Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students before and after learning management using historical method, and 3) the learning achievement of Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students before and after learning management using the 5E inquiry process and historical method. The population used in the research consisted of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University students. The sample group consisted of 40 3rd year students majoring in Social Studies at Phetchaburi Rajabhat University in semester 1, academic year 2023, selected by using random group sampling method, and then using a lottery method to divide the samples into 2 groups, experimental group 1 was organized to learn with the 5E inquiry process, and experimental group 2 consisting of 40 people. The tools included learning management plans using the 5E inquiry process, learning management plans with historical methods, and learning achievement test. The data were analyzed by using t-test dependent.
The results of this study indicated that:
- The learning achievement on Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students before and after learning through the 5E inquiry process was different with statistical significance at the 0.01 level.
- The learning achievement on Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students before and after learning through the historical method was different with statistical significance at the 0.01 level.
- The learning achievement on Local Studies of the 3rd year higher education students learning through the 5E inquiry process and the historical method was different with statistical significance at the 0.01 level.
