The Participation in the Operation of Community Enterprise Members: A case study Ban Sri Suk Bamboo Weaving Handicraft Group Ban Kluai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Sukhothai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study participation in the operation of community enterprise members. 2) to study problems and obstacles in the operation of community enterprise members, and 3) to study suggestions for guidelines for the operation of community enterprise members by a case study of Ban Srisuk bamboo weaving handicraft group. Ban Kluai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Sukhothai Province. This research was based on documents and interviews with the head of a community enterprise group and nine community enterprise members, totaling 20 people, by selecting a specific sample. The research instruments were interviewed, and the data were subjected to content analysis and analysed descriptively. The research found that: 1) The community enterprise members participate in the operations as follows: participation in expressing opinions and resourcing product design, distribution, and distribution of products to the market. 2) Problems and obstacles in the operation of community enterprise members include insufficient and scarce bamboo in the area, problems arising from members within the weaving group themselves, and problems in distributing products to the market. 3) Recommendations for the operation of community enterprise members are that government agencies should promote and develop skills, knowledge, and abilities in weaving among community enterprise members. should support the budget for the operation of the group and should come to raise quality and standards in production, including helping to supervise copyright to prevent copying.
