Problems and Characteristics of Transportation Efficiency Among E-commerce Sellers in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai Area, Samut Prakan Province

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the transportation problems of e-commerce sellers in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai area, Samut Prakan Province, and 2) to analyze the characteristics of transportation efficiency among e-commerce sellers in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai area, Samut Prakan Province. The qualitative research method was used to collect data from 623 cases of transportation delays in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai area. The obtained data were analyzed using content analysis. The results showed that the transportation problems of e-commerce sellers in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai area, Samut Prakan Province, could be divided into 14 categories, including packing delays, too small barcodes, full truck capacity, late arrival of parcels at stores, full warehouse capacity/inability to unload, drivers’ unfamiliarity with the route, inappropriate box selection, traffic congestion, vehicle issues, wrong packing, re-location of the store without prior notifications, accidents, parcel size and weight limitations, and drivers’ urgent leaves. The characteristics indicating transportation efficiency among e-commerce sellers in the Samrong-Pu Chao Saming Phrai area, Samut Prakan Province, consisted of seven aspects: speed, economy, safety, convenience, consistency-reliability-punctuality, store accuracy, and store facilitation.
