FACTORS AFFECTING THE TEACHER SPIRITUALITY OF TEACHERS UNDER PHITSANULOK PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

                 The purposes of this research were to 1) study the level of the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers, 2) study the level of factors affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers, 3) study the relationship of factors affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers, and 4) to create an equation for forecasting factors affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample consisted of 291 teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table, and they were obtained by stratified random sampling proportional to the number of teachers in each school. Data were collected using a questionnaire on factors affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. Data analysis utilized Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, and Enter Multiple Regression Analysis.   

                   The research findings revealed that: 1) The level of the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, overall, was at the highest level. 2) The level of factors affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, overall, was at the highest level.        3) The correlation coefficient between the predictor variables affecting the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 was between 0.40 and 0.59. 4) The results of the Enter Multiple Regression Analysis showed that four factors significantly affected the Teacher Professional Spirit of teachers under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 at the .05 level of statistical significance. These factors were: Inspiration in being a teacher (X₁), Role Model in being a teacher (X₂), Personal Experience (X₄),  and Commitment between Teacher and Student (X₅). The multiple correlation coefficient (R) was 0.72 the coefficient of multiple determination (R²) was 52.00 percent, and the standard error was 0.15 The equation is as follows:

               Predictive equation of raw scores:

               Y   = 1.30 + 0.20 (X₁) + 0.11 (X₂) + 0.14 (X₄) + 0.15 (X₅)

               Predictive equation of standard scores:

              Z_y   = 0.24 (X₁) + 0.16 (X₂) + 0.18 (X₄) + 0.23 (X₅)
