An evaluation of Vongchavalitkul University's Bachelor of Communication Arts Curricula (Revised 2018) based on the Stufflebeam CIPP Evaluation Model

Abstract

               This research aimed to evaluate Vongchavalitkul University's Bachelor of Communication Arts Curriculum (2018) using the Stufflebeam CIPP Evaluation Model that comprises four curriculum components: context evaluation, input evaluation, process evaluation, and product evaluation.


               The population consisted of 22 individuals, including faculty members from the Department of Communication Arts, alumni, current students, communication arts authorities, and communication arts professionals. The research tools for this study included semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and SWOT analysis conducted with all 22 population. Data collection took place between October 2021 and February 2022.


              The study found that the demand for further education in the field of Communication Arts has continuously decreased. This is partly due to disruptions caused by online media, which have played a role in changing society and affecting the teaching and learning methods in the field of Communication Arts. As a result, the pursuit of knowledge and skills in Communication Arts has become widely accessible, and most people can access and learn through online media. The majority of students in the Faculty of Communication Arts at Vongchavalitkul University come from schools in the outskirts of Nakhon Ratchasima province, and they have basic skills in Communication Arts. They want to enhance their knowledge and skills in Communication Arts. Vongchavalitkul University's Bachelor's degree program in Communication Arts focuses on producing graduates who have theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which align with the demands of the job market.
