The Effect of Using Reading Enhancement Applications on The Reading Ability of Preschool Children
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to study the effect of using a reading enhancement application on the reading ability of preschool children. The experimental method was employed, with the sample group consisting of preschool children aged 4-6 years, selected specifically. The participants were divided into an experimental group using the reading enhancement application and a control group using traditional teaching methods. The research tools included the reading enhancement application, a reading ability assessment test, and an observation checklist for children's reading behavior.
The research findings revealed that children in the experimental group who used the reading enhancement application had significantly higher reading abilities than the control group (p < 0.05), particularly in vocabulary recognition, content comprehension, and reading interest. Additionally, children who used the application exhibited more enthusiastic reading behaviors compared to those who learned through traditional methods.
From the research findings, it can be concluded that using reading enhancement applications is an effective approach to promoting reading skills in preschool children and can be appropriately applied in the teaching and learning process to develop reading skills at the preschool level.
