Surindra Rajabhat University Strategy for Local Development and Ban Chang Pi Pottery Inheritance Project

Abstract

This academic article is written on the occasion of the 50^th Anniversary of Surindra Rajabhat University to demonstrate the university’s role in academic services. The article presents the results of the implementation of Pottery Inheritance Project at Ban Chang Pi, Sikhoraphum District, Surin Province, according to the Digital Thailand 4.0 Era under the strategy project of Surindra Rajabhat University for local development for 20 years (2017-2036) at the 2021 fiscal year. The main objective of this project is to conserve the pottery wisdom of Surin Province to be continued and be evident to the public. It is also a knowledge transfer from the community to educational institutions. Participants in the project consisted of the OTOP Nawatwithi Ban Chang Pi group and students from Ban Chang Pi School with a total of 30 people. The project results found that all participants were able to sculpt and form pottery. All pottery works from the project were displayed at the Surin National Museum, which demonstrates the importance of the activities as well as participants’ works. In addition, this project was presented through various media, including online, print and television, throughout all activities, which is a good way to disseminate the reputation and role of the university widely.
