Abstract

This research investigated factors influencing the decision to pursue graduate-level education among personnel at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University. The objectives were to: 1) examine the factors affecting the decision to pursue graduate education among personnel at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, and 2) compare the relative importance of those factors.

A quantitative research methodology was employed. The sample consisted of 186 personnel at Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University, selected using the Krejcie and Morgan sample size table. The research instrument was a questionnaire developed by the researcher, with an IOC value of 0.91. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and the Friedman Test to examine differences among factors.

The results revealed that the overall level of factors influencing the decision to pursue graduate education was at a high level ( = 4.50, S.D. = 0.27). The comparison of factors showed statistically significant differences at the .01 level ( = 18.58, df = 5, p = .002). This reflects that curriculum and instructional management, along with institutional credibility, were the most influential factors in the decision-making process — likely because personnel seek academic and professional self-development, and therefore place importance on up-to-date curricula, scheduling flexibility, and instructor quality, all of which contribute to confidence in educational quality and social recognition.
