Announcement on the Revision of Journal Aims, Scope, and Publication Schedule

Journal of Academic Surindra Rajabhat University

In order to align with the mission of Surindra Rajabhat University as a “University for Local Development,” and to enhance the academic quality of the journal in accordance with the standards of the Thai Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI) and the academic performance evaluation criteria of the Office of the Civil Service Commission in Higher Education (OCSCHE), as well as to accommodate advances in knowledge and innovation for local development in the digital era, the Journal of Academic Surindra Rajabhat University hereby announces revisions to its Aims and Scope and publication schedule to ensure clarity, alignment with quality development directions, and support for the creation of new knowledge in relevant fields.

This policy shall be effective for manuscripts submitted for publication starting from Volume 4, Issue 1 (B.E. 2569 | A.D. 2026) onward.

Aims

The Journal of Academic Surindra Rajabhat University is an interdisciplinary academic journal that aims to disseminate high-quality research articles and academic papers in the fields of human studies and identity in local and contemporary social contexts; social, community, and societal change studies; lifelong learning and human capacity development; as well as integrated knowledge for sustainable community and local development.

The journal emphasizes the creation and dissemination of rigorous scholarly knowledge alongside its practical application for development at the community, local, and societal levels. It supports the mission of Surindra Rajabhat University as a “University for Local Development” and promotes the linkage between academic knowledge and contemporary social contexts at both national and international levels.

Scope

The Journal of Academic Surindra Rajabhat University welcomes research articles and academic articles within the following scopes:

1. Human Studies and Identity in Local and Contemporary Social Contexts

This area covers studies on humans, identity, existence, and adaptation within local contexts, Thai society, and contemporary societies, with an emphasis on conceptual, theoretical, and academic framework analysis.

2. Social, Community, and Societal Change Studies

This area includes studies on social and community dynamics, social change, social relationships, social structures and processes, as well as contemporary social issues that affect community and societal development.

3. Lifelong Learning and Human Capacity Development

This area encompasses studies on lifelong learning, learning management in diverse contexts, human capacity development, place-based learning, community-based learning, and learning innovations that promote human and social development.

4. Integrated Knowledge for Sustainable Community and Local Development

This area includes interdisciplinary research and academic articles that integrate knowledge from relevant disciplines to propose development approaches, problem-solving strategies, and sustainable enhancement of community and local quality of life.

Exclusions

To maintain a clear scope and avoid overlap with other specialized journals, the Journal of Academic Surindra Rajabhat University does not accept manuscripts in the following areas:

  • Conservation-oriented arts and culture, local wisdom, and cultural heritage

  • Political science, politics, governance, and public policy

  • Law

  • Management and business administration

  • Experimental science and technology

Publication Schedule

The journal is published three issues per year:

  • Issue 1: January–April

  • Issue 2: May–August

  • Issue 3: September–December

Each issue publishes approximately 20–30 articles, effective from B.E. 2569 (A.D. 2026) onward.

Types of Articles

The journal accepts two types of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles

  • Academic Articles

Submissions may be written in Thai or English.

Manuscript Review and Publication Conditions

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two qualified peer reviewers. For manuscripts submitted by external authors, reviews are conducted by one internal and one external reviewer, or by at least two external reviewers. Manuscripts submitted by internal authors are reviewed exclusively by external reviewers from diverse institutions with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s field. All manuscripts must be approved by the editorial board prior to publication.

The journal employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process, in which neither the reviewers nor the authors are aware of each other’s identities. The editorial board reserves the right not to proceed with manuscript consideration until revisions are completed in accordance with journal guidelines.

Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere. If figures or tables from previously published works are used, authors must obtain permission from the copyright holders and submit written consent to the editorial board prior to publication. Opinions and views expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the editorial board.
