Single Use Plastic Waste Management Behavior Of Cambodian Students in Thailand

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the Single Use Plastics waste management behavior of Cambodian Student in Thailand. The populations were students of Royal Scholarship under Education project to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The 400 samples were calculated by using W.G. Cochran (1953) which was 95% confidence level, therefore, 400 samples were purposively sampled. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The study found that Single Use Plastics waste management behaviors of Cambodia Student in Thailand was at a moderate level, (X̅ = 2.04, S.D.= 0.03). When considering each side, it was found that SUPs reducing behavior higher than SUPs reusing and rejecting (X̅ = 2.19, 2.05, and 1.88) respectively. The highest mean of SUPs-reducing behavior was “Reducing the use of plastic bags with handles” by bringing cloth bags/baskets to go shopping or market. The highest mean of SUPs-reusing behavior was "Reusing plastic bag handles" such as putting things or garbage, etc. The highest mean of SUPs-rejecting behavior was “Refuse to accept plastic bags. The suggestion of this study was to study motivation or
factors affecting single-use plastic waste management behaviors of Cambodian students living in Thailand should be investigated as a guideline to promote management behavior in terms of reducing reuse and reject single-use plastics in order to reduce the problem of plastic waste in Thailand.
