Abstract

This research aims to study the effectiveness of cartoon lessons combined with cooperative learning using the STAD technique in developing basic Thai reading skills of 4th-grade students. It compares reading skills before and after learning and examines students' satisfaction with the learning method. The research used a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design experimental method, with a sample group of 15 fourth-grade students from Ban Pao School in Nan Province. The research instruments included cartoon lessons, learning management plans, reading skill tests, and satisfaction questionnaires. The research findings revealed that cartoon lessons combined with cooperative learning using the STAD technique were more effective than the set criteria. Students' basic Thai reading skills after learning were significantly higher than before, and they expressed the highest level of satisfaction with the learning method.
