Abstract

This study focuses on the analysis and development of Thai script standards in the context of legal and international standards, considering the history of Thai script, guidelines for setting script standards, and legal requirements related to the use of script in official documents and digital media. This research employs literature review, comparative analysis, and interviews with experts in the fields of law and linguistics.
The research findings indicate that the development of Thai script standards requires collaboration between relevant agencies, such as the Royal Society of Thailand and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, to establish clear guidelines for the use of Thai script in official documents, information systems, and public signage. Additionally, the font standards must consider readability, structural accuracy, and usability in digital contexts.
The recommendation from this research is that the laws related to Thai fonts should be updated to be modern, in line with digital technology, and support the use of standard fonts that can be used in both legal documents and online media.
