Motion detection-based sign language translation program for daily Communication
Keywords:

The objectives of this research were: (1) to develop and design a basic sign language translation program for daily communication, (2) to promote the use of sign language and provide a guideline for interested learners, (3) to support communication between the general public and sign language users, and (4) to study user satisfaction toward the sign language translation program through motion detection technology. The sample group consisted of 30 teachers, students, and vocational students from the Business Computer Department, Minburi Technical College. The research instrument was a user satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed using mean (x̄) and standard deviation (S.D.).
The findings revealed that the developed sign language translation program functioned as intended and achieved the expected objectives. The overall satisfaction level of the participants toward the program was rated at a very good level (x̄ = 4.55, S.D. = 0.48). The highest satisfaction was in terms of usability (x̄ = 4.57, S.D. = 0.49). These results indicate that the program is effective in promoting communication and can be practically applied for daily life usage.
