Speech as a Powerful Tool for Inspiring Moral Action in Accordance with Buddhist Principles Speech is a fundamental human behavior endowed with tremendous power, particularly in conveying thoughts, emotions, and inspiring motivation. When speech is purposefully directed toward encouraging virtuous actions, it becomes both a science and an art—requiring not only communication skills and psychological insight but also a profound understanding of religious principles. In Buddhism, the ethical use of speech is highly emphasized through the concept of Right Speech (vacī-sucarita), which promotes truthful, gentle, and beneficial communication as a means of supporting and uplifting others.
This academic article aims to explore techniques of motivational speech that can awaken moral consciousness and encourage good deeds, grounded in core Buddhist teachings.
