Guidelines for Building a Strong, Drug-Free Community Based on the 5 Precepts

Abstract

This academic article aims to create knowledge and understanding of drug problems by analyzing various issues to find solutions to drug problems to achieve sustainable stability based on moral principles, namely, the use of the Five Precepts and the approach to create strong communities that are free from drugs by using Buddhist principles as an important part in creating encouragement and creating new hope for life, as a mental support to prevent relapse into drug use, and developing and restoring brain intelligence, emotional behavior, which leads to the development of important social skills and life skills, and preventing relapse into drug use. Part of the main goal of drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation is to receive assistance from the network partners in working with the Sangha, laity, and administrative officials to make society and communities aware, understand, and provide opportunities to target groups who are ready to move forward together to return good people to society and develop society to be safe in life and property, making people in society live together happily, peacefully, and sustainably.
