Artificial Intelligence (AI): Innovation in Curriculum and Learning Design in the Digital Era
Keywords:
Artificial Intelligence (AI), Innovation, Curriculum and Learning DesignAbstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a significant innovation that is transforming education and curriculum development in the digital age by effectively integrating learning theories with modern technologies. This article presents a synthesis of concepts, research, and practices regarding the application of AI in education. The study finds that AI can promote autonomous learning and decision-making, it plays a crucial role in enhancing learning efficiency, promoting educational sustainability, and developing the potential of both teachers and learners. AI applications encompass learner development through intelligent tutoring systems that adapt content to individual needs, enhancing teaching efficiency by reducing repetitive workloads and elevating teaching quality for teachers, and comprehensive educational institution management that connects all stakeholders. AI-driven curriculum design has three key characteristics: creating personalized learning paths that respond to learner diversity, automated content creation and curation that ensures relevance and currency, and continuous improvement based on learner data analytics. Learning design covers adaptive learning systems, lesson plan development, automated assessment mechanisms, creating virtual reality experiences, tutoring, and promoting educational equality. However, implementing AI requires consideration of important issues including ethics and responsibility concerning data privacy and academic integrity, human relationships and holistic development that preserve teacher - student relationships, creativity and innovation, where AI serves as a supportive tool rather than a replacement, cultural contextand appropriateness, and professional development. The article presents comprehensive policy recommendations spanning from the national-level frameworks and legislation to classroom - level implementation strategies. When applied judiciously with ethical considerations, AI can be a tool for creating equal opportunities and diverse learning experiences for all learners.
